Prologue

Gateway Manager is an Industrial IoT Gateway management platform built to bring field communications to the cloud.

In order to make the shift to Industry 4.0, the three 'M's of manufacturing; Man (Humans), Machines, and Material must possess the ability to store data, apply intelligence to it and take action. Currently, only humans possess all these three abilities.

With the rapid advancements in the internet and the technologies surrounding it, it is now possible to maintain real-time communication with the machines and create a virtual machine mind (digital twin) on the cloud.

The 21st century is currently experiencing the fourth industrial revolution where industries and businesses are being transformed into cyber-physical systems. The prerequisite for the transformation is digitalization.

Data exists either in Digital or Analog form and are exchanged between machines using communication protocols. It is the duty of the gateway to convert protocols and send them to the cloud to store data, apply intelligence and take action on it.
